Trend Alert - Denim Shirt + Chino [DeChino]

It's not about history of the Petrova's in Lockwood, destroying the Moon Stone or killing "sacrificing" the Dopple Ganger to break a century year old curse... [of course i watch The Vampire Diaries + the wardrobe for the cast is hardly a disappointment] .... this is about the "DeChino"... yes i have managed to come up with a corny name for it even. The Denim Shirt + Chinos needs no introduction do they? Well unless of course you are a fashion illiterate *finger down throat* but any waaaaaaayyyy let me school your soul a little.....
CHINO TRANSLATION:
Trousers are now not just confined to the office. With the major trend of the moment being the resurgence of Chinos, men all over the world now have an option to consider when creating the casual outfits.Towards the end of 2010 the chino began to creep into the collections of some of the young fashion designer clothing brands, pre-empting what was set to occur this year [2012]. More mature brands like Ralph Lauren, Ted Baker and Hackett have offered a chino for quite some time now, they come in beige, cream or light brown traditionally with the odd black or navy pair making an appearance in some of the collections.

DENIM TRANSLATON:
History is repetitive. Fashion is recycled. It is never about utility but rather noticing mere pieces of iconography to express individual identity. As such the 70's are making a come back (with a slight shout out to the 90's). Denim has earned it's place as a staple through out the whole world, no matter what the current trends call for, denim shirts will never go out of style... we can even sleep in them now *wink* :)

RECESS:
nOw gooo out & add some Denim SHirt to the Chino ,as you might have realized i managed to make a little combo of my own, stay stylish & let Thread Skinne know about the DeChinos you worked out :) ♥

Street Style: Skinne Ultimatum

Looking a little deeper into my sartorial choices & finding the complexity that lies behind it, you realize that a person doesn't necessarily have to be a "showstopper" with their outfit to be just as complex & breathtaking. Daring, creative and subtle as fashion enthusiasts can get we all know sometimes we just have to be simple & original but not Bye-Bye Birdying the style in it.... No matter how simple it is though, it has to bleed style when i knife it. Cheap is even allowed in this context, we don't even have to bring Freddy Kruger for the endless style bleed... stay simple & true to the fashion religion & you can never get lost in the labyrinth of street style but if you do Thread Skinne shall GPS you before you even realize you are lost ♥

Stay stylish Skinne Nation + Team Thread Skinne till the death of us ♥♥♥

New York Fashion Week Fall 2012 Review: Marc Jacobs

Victoriana meets late-night rave. That was the mood of the Marc Jacobs fall 2012 runway show, a madcap fashion omp with a charming, childhood innocence, and a white enchanted forest set created by Rachel Feinstein.

With Lionel Bart's soaring lyrics, "Who will buy this wonderful feeling? I'm so high, I swear I could fly!" from the musical "Oliver!" on the sound track one couldn't help but imagine the models as chic street urchins and flower sellers, nannies and grannies, in outsized hats, color-saturated tinsel tweed frock coats and skirts, crocheted sweaters, argyle socks and pilgrim shoes with enormous rhinestone buckles.

The madcap combinations, clashing colors and prints, also called to mind the surging blogger class of fashion fan boys and girls, the Tavi Gevinson, Susie Bubble and Bryan Boys of the world, and their wide-eyed Hollywood compatriots, like Dakota Fanning, who was sitting front row. For that generation, fashion isn't so much about money and status as it is about personal peacockery, the louder the better.
There was nothing jaded here, just pure, unabashed fashion fun -- as if Jacobs was trying to remind us all of why we got into this business, because we love dressing up.

Fashion Is Dead NOT: Alexander McQueen

Tomorrow will be marking two years since Alexander McQueen died, while the others are still shocked & unwilling to accept his death [we all know I never fit in well with the others lol! besides i was not made to fit in] i decide to make my own way.... Praising the dead ♥

Alexander McQueen was a British Fashion Designer & Couturier best known for his in-depth knowledge of bespoke British tailoring, his tendency juxtapose strength with fragility in his collections, as well as the emotional power and raw energy of his provocative fashion shows.

His brilliant imagination knew no bounds as he conjured up collection after collection of extraordinary designs. He is also known for having worked as chief designer at Givenchy from 1996 to 2001 and for founding his own label under the name Alexander McQueen.[2] His achievements in fashion earned him four British Designer of the Year awards (1996, 1997, 2001 and 2003), as well as the CFDA's International Designer of the Year award in 2003.
