Without a doubt, Sudan produces super-edgy models, long-legged with striking skin tones. It is amazing to see that each year there's at least one new face from Africa on the scene if not more. I was totally chuffed to see that recently there has been a stream line of African models featured in campaigns & editorials. With all of that being said i bow down to Atong Ajork, a beautiful sight to behold. Born on October 5, 1985 in Carlifonia. The Sudanese-American has been gaining momentum since breaking in to the scene for names like Lacoste, Heatherette, Diane Von Furstenberg & Phillip Lim. Atong is the definition if you know what i mean. Such luster of gold & diamond hardness ^_^

Johannesburg Fashion Week Review - Kim Gush

Africa Fashion International’s annual Johanneburg Fashion Week, sponsored by Mercedes Benz for the first time this year, kicked off in style with the Fasttrack day. AFI FASTRACK is a national fashion design development platform in partnership with one of South Africa’s top retailers Foschini that aims nurture and develop South Africa’s young design talent.  This platform offers young designers an opportunity to Fastrack their careers through intensive mentoring, business development coaching and mentorship for future success. After a successful first year, AFI FASTRACK is back and promises an exciting and improved opportunity.

Among this year's four finalists, Kim Gush's trend forward menswear collection made me cum, kidnapping the ramp & forcefully demanding the audience to give up & show their edgy side as ransom, flashing hints of a "post-apocalyptic-ninja" style it was called The Immortality Of Divine Rule and was inspired by the Chinese Terracotta Army.

 

 Kim Gush, a graduate from the Elizabeth Galloway Academy of Fashion Design in Stellenbosch has the future and direction SA fashion in her hands, She's alive, fresh with ideas and has an amazing point of view. She will be showcasing her collection at the Mercedes Benz Cape Town Fashion Week in August.

I love her no doubt bout that, Skinne Nation stay real :)

Style Crush - Zoe Kravitz

With musician Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonnet as her parents, raven haired Zoe Kravitz was born with rock n’ roll and effortless fashion sense flowing through her veins. With a mix of grungy rocker chic style and a hint of fairytale boho, this chick makes fashion fun and feisty- yet still refreshingly understated and chic.

The 23 year old is currently the lead vocalist for her band Elevator Fight which was formed 2 summers ago. As I said before, Zoe has a great everyday look; she always looks cool as a cucumber, whether she’s rocking a flannel button-up, leather jacket, headband or a pair of fashion-forward sunnies. Her outfits always have a breezy, “just-rolled-out-of-bed” vibe, yet she still looks very put-together and thoughtful. She always stays true to herself & doesn't subscribe to trends, not even afraid to try out different things. Zoe is a breath of fresh air & a step apart from all the fashion clones in the business, i die hard for her style :)

Style Icon - Solange Knowles

After years of being credited as the "other" Knowles' sister, she has blossomed into an independent fire cracker known for her newly found daring fashion sense, music and all round coolness.

Affordability, accessibility, and a team of people are void in the realm of personal expressions vicariously through well-thought out pieces created for a look. Having a knack for panache is an innate sense of being that plays throughout ones choices of clothing, making an unthinkable get-up a notable outfit that somehow works. Yet, as complex as that can be for someone who righteously doesn’t possess such flair, on the right person, even a grey tee and a pair of jeans could make the cut for Fashion Week and well be received Solange Knowles has this thing.

Besides being a mother to Daniel Julez Smith, 7, the younger in-vogue Knowles, 25, sings, deejays, models, and was last month’s British Vogue choice to grace us with her daily ensemble offerings. And I must have drooled from the over-excitement her taste in clothing evoked in me! I'm just obsessed as anyone else when it comes to her sense of style which leans more on her African side....

Solange has also lent her face & body to campaigns such as Rimmel, Armani Jeans & Carol's Daughter, i seriously die for her below is a video of my fave track from her - I Decided.... Stay soulful, stylish & following ♥

Model Crush - River Viiperi

Well im 110% sure that you lot done seen the Dolce & Gabbana F/W 2013 runway show already & you couldn't have missed this brunette. River Deflin Viiperi born August 1991 to a Spanish father & a Finnish mother is my definite *beep at the moment, he's just too hot to handle plus we have a lot in common cos we both hate everything else but fashion (everything being school in this context *wink*). River was introduced to the modelling world my his mother, Riitta Viiperi. His modelling career took off very quickly and he became popular in a very short time: doing countless editorials; gracing the covers of Winq, Surface, Guapo and Coitus. He's also been on several advertising campaigns including those for American Eagle, Bershka, Calvin Klein, Amarni Exchange & Versace for H&M.
He has his own blog called Never Back Down in which he denies common myths about the world of the male model and describes his experiences living with his roommates in their models' flat.

Look Of The Day - Blog Me Some Cardi

Okay, of course those are the same Chino's you saw on my last two updates but it might as well cross your mind that i said this an I am going to say it once again....

With that being said i decided to throw in my lovely cardigan to complement the chino look just for the last time [you all know i cant resist them right?] i hope you ignore the Chino & focus on the cardigan now lol! One of the items that recently joined my closet as a present from my cousin in Joburg.... i do have a reason to fall in love with it now don't i?
