Colour Me Block

Colour + block = the two words in fashion most commonly used  this season. It was just a matter of time before i'd incorporate  this much loved trend into a DIY. Eighties style Colour blocking is back, wave goodbye to boring neutrals & say hello to bold brights. Seeing models invading the runways in a mishmash of neon yellow lace teamed with brown pringle patterns and clashing orange neon spins the fashion world into a turmoil.

Loud and proud colour combinations make for a dynamic, confident look. The colour blocking trend began about a year ago and it literally means an outfit made out of "blocks" of solid colour. The secret to pulling it of is sticking to simple shapes- think classic shifts and choosing shades that are the direct opposites on the colour wheel. Try clashing pink and yellow, orange and blue, green and black to create the most effective blocking effect and make sure that each piece has the same amount of grunt otherwise the look will be unbalanced.

Just keep in mind the following points while wearing color blocks-
  • Don’t be shy to experiment. Any color combination is fantastic if you can pull it off properly. Blue, green and orange sounds mad but will look oh-so-pretty.
  • Do not combine more than three to four colors. It’s not that it doesn’t look nice, but it looks very ‘ramp’ish. Moreover more colors will keep cutting your body shape here and there making it a not so beautiful sight.
  • Choose what you want to color block and keep the rest of your look simple. For example, if you opt for a colorblocked bag, go easy on the clothes and shoes. You don’t want to look like a Rubik cube, do you??
  • Never ever ever combine two color blocked items. This is the worst thing to do to this trend. No actually you can, its just that you will end up looking like the latest catalogue of Asian paints.
What ever you put on this season, colour-blocking or not - Follow my lead i always take the sunshine where ever i go. don't be shy....

In my opinion it is really a fun trend to sport this summer, it gives the opportunity to pair colors which we won't dare to combine together otherwise. Plus what are summers without bright cheerful colors???? Gone is the season of muted warm shades, its time to paint the town in all colors possible ♥
So go on and have fun blocking colors. Do let Thread Skinne how you plan to wear it.
Stay stylish :-)

Hollinspiration

Laura Hollins a.k.a Agyness Deyn was dicovered by a modelling scout while shopping with fashion designer Henry Holland in Kentish Town, London.
Aside from Vogue, Agyness Deyn also appeared of Observer Woman, Sunday Times Style, Grazia, Pop, Style & Life and other international magazines. She also became an image model for various brands such as Anna Sui, Blugirl by Blumarine, Burberry, Mulberry & Giorgio Armani.

Agyness Deyn has proven herself as the fashion industry's next super model and her free spirited persona is one of the things that inspires me every time fashion crosses my mind. Keep me inspired with the funky looks Agy :)

Style Ispiration - Kanye Omari West

From Little Richard to Andre 3000, ostentatious style has long helped define the black-male ethos. So why does Kanye West' sartorial choices bring out homophobia?  It used to be that man who were comfortable with masculinity could get away with anything.

Come on, nobody remembers the infamous 1970's, when George Clinton decidedly dressed like an acid trip had leaked all over his wardrobe? Or the 1980's, when dance sensations like The World Class Wreckin' Cru had Dr. Dre  proudly wearing eyeliner and bias-cut tops? Or even the 1990's where RnB groups like New Edition would slide around wearing half shirts and practicing synchronized kick turns?

Homosexuality has nothing to do with fashion that's my point if you may ask, im inspired by Mr. Omari himself and i will love his sense of fashion till the death of me. Eat fashion, Live Fashion, Breathe Fashion, Think Fashion and wipe negativity out. I AM INSPIRED BY Kanye OMARI West

p.s Kanye has his own label launched some time last year called DW, which is the acro of his late mother Donda West [rest Her Soul] Love You Kanye :) DON'T STOP REBEL CHILD SOLDIER
